When the true messiah rescues us from ourselves . . .

Ok, this blog is nearly dead, i admit it. But i'm so tired, for real i need a long break with no thoughts at all. Only lying on a golden beach with my beloved mates, drinking, swimming and chasing pretty girls. Meanwhile my favorite punk band, Bad Religion, performed at my home country. Unfortunately i'm miles away for the time being but i will attend their show at the lovely manchester acedemy at late august. (By the way, tomorrow Converge are in town - no doubt it will be a great show, i'll let you know).

So, because of this 'listening to Bad Religion all day'-phase i'm through i grabbed again a really nice book i read every now and then. It's called "Is Belief In God Good, Bad or Irrelevant" - A professor and a punk rocker discuss science, religion, naturalism & christianity - by Preston Jones (the professor) & Greg Graffin (the punk rocker - singer, songwriter of Bad Religion). Give it a read. It is worthreading. Here's one interesting paragraph by the christian professor.

"But i also noted how much we agree in terms of general outlook - which doesn't suprise me. Like you, i know that even if i am successful at making a small part of the world better, the general trend is in the direction of oblivion. People are self-destructive - i think of overfed americans watching three hours of tv a day; of corrupt african governments starving their people, who slaughter one another in ethnic and tribal conflict; of mindless reproduction in spite of poverty; of poor use of water, etc. And i know that if we don't kill ourselves off, or if someone power greater than us doesn't intervene, then eventually the sun will burn out."

P.s. Buy the book and read it while you're listening to Bad Religion!
